Improving connectivity over Australia’s vast network drove Fusion to develop proprietary software algorithms to transfer data efficiently with greater security. Fusion Broadband South Africa (Pty) Ltd is not an ISP but provides the Software Defined Wide Area Networking services of Fusion Broadband Australia, on the African continent. Fusion won the 2020 IBM Beacon Award for Outstanding Infrastructure Services Solution. Fusion’s solution which is primarily backed by the IBM Cloud network and is applied to manage thousands of links for customers in Australia, North America, Asia, Europe and now South Africa.
As Australia’s first SD-WAN service provider, Fusion has built a significant track record with over 200 Managed Service Providers (MSP), over 2000 private wide area networks and over 3500 voice customers.
Australia is a big country where data is transferred over long distances over good and bad networks. For Fusion to improve the connectivity experience of its customers and overcome the network challenges, Fusion developed proprietary software algorithms within its business grade edge routers to transfer data efficiently with greater security. Fusion’s initial software approach to solving a real connectivity problem was improved further over the last few years and formed the basis of what is now defined as Software Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN).

Ronald Bartels is a problem solver within the field of Information Technology (IT). He is an expert on software defined wide area networks (SD-WAN). He gained extensive networking experience in the IT, banking and telecommunications sectors having worked at Investec, Absa & iBurst. Ronald ensures that the Fusion offering is technically robust to deliver the benefits to the customer. A Finalist of the 2018 IT Blog Awards and holds a BSc Computer Science Degree (Stellenbosch).

Kirthesh Sundersingh CA (SA), MBA (Henley, UK) has extensive experience in the business advisory, financial and telecommunications sectors. Over the last 10 years, Kirthesh has been involved in providing mobile connectivity and understands the connectivity requirements of business customers in the SA market. At Fusion, Kirthesh focuses on solving customer connectivity problems, promoting and delivering the Fusion solution to customers and resellers.
